Remarkable Progress and Unwavering Commitment: TCAG Inspects Facilities for 13th African Games in Ghana

The Technical Committee for the African Games (TCAG) and members of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) recently conducted a comprehensive site visit to evaluate the designated facilities for the upcoming 13th African Games.

The visit took place on July 24, 2023, with the primary objective of assessing the readiness and completion status of the facilities.

During the inspection, the Vice-Chairperson of the TCAG, Maj. Gen. Ahmed Nasser expressed his profound admiration for the remarkable progress achieved in the preparations for the 13th African Games.

He wholeheartedly commended the LOC and the Government of Ghana for their unwavering dedication and efforts in ensuring that the facilities are well on track.

During the visit, the TCAG accepted the use of some temporary facilities to host certain disciplines during the Games.

Meanwhile, a member of the TCAG emphasized the need to ensure the availability of funds to ensure that work progress at a desired rate.

In this regard, he extended sincere appreciation to the LOC led by Dr. Kwaku Ofosu-Asare, the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MoYS), and the Government of Ghana (GOG) for their commendable commitment and work in facilitating the construction process.

Furthermore, another member of the TCAG made a noteworthy suggestion during the visit, advocating for the incorporation of a health facility at the Games Village to cater to potential medical emergencies.

The level of work and Ghana’s dedication left the entire committee impressed and believe the West African nation would be able to march the high standards of the Games.

This inaugural site visit to the facilities has left the committee with a sense of satisfaction regarding the progress made thus far. As the Games draw closer, the TCAG looks forward to continuing its collaboration with the LOC to ensure a successful and memorable hosting of the 13th African Games in Ghana.
