The Executive Chairman of the 13th African Games’ Local Organising Committee (LOC), Dr. Kwaku Ofosu-Asare, took part in the inaugural “Ghana Week in DC” event in Washington, D.C.
The Ghana Tourism Authority, Events DC, LIQUID SOUL-DC, Ghana Embassy in Washington, D.C., and D.C. United collaborated to organize the week-long festival, which aimed to highlight the diversity of African culture and encourage cooperation and investment in vital industries.

Dr. Ofosu-Asare participated in a number of meetings and events as part of this momentous occasion to promote the 13th African Games, which comes off in Accra in March 2024.
It turned out that the occasion was a great way to ask for help and funding for the games.
The Executive Chairman had a meeting with Mrs. Cynthia Djokoto, the Minister in charge of Commercial at the Ghanaian Embassy in Washington, DC, outside of the festivities.
Potential sponsorship and promotion options for the 13th African Games were the main topics of discussion. This meeting emphasized how crucial international collaborations are to the event’s smooth running.
The Executive Chairman gave an engrossing presentation on October 18, 2023, about Ghana’s preparations to host the 13th African Games.
He emphasized the occasion’s advantages for both investors and the nation at large.
The presentation took place during the Prince George’s County business forum, which was sponsored by the Ghana Tourism Authority and the Ghana Investment Promotion Council.
Meanwhile, Ghana’s Ambassador to the United States, H.E. Hajia Alima Mahama, also expressed her support for the successful organization of the 13th African Games.
In addition, Dr. Ofosu-Asare was present at a gathering organized by Opportunity International and hosted by the Ghana Embassy, which gave valuable insights.
