The 13th African Games, Accra 2023, will serve as Olympic qualifiers for seven sports disciplines.
Ghana’s Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon. Mustapha Ussif made the announcement during a meet-the-press encounter in Accra on Wednesday, July 26, 2023.
According to the sector Minister, Badminton, Cycling, Swimming, Table Tennis, Tennis, Triathlon, and Wrestling will all serve as qualifiers for the 2024 Olympic Games which will be hosted by Paris.

The newly-constituted Technical Committee of the African Games, TCAG, led by H.E. AMB. Minata Samate Cessouma (chairperson) and Maj. Gen. Ahmed Nasser of the AASC has been engaging the Local Organising Committee, LOC, of the Games, and other stakeholders to ensure a successful organisation of the event.
In all, 22 sports disciplines will feature in the March 2024 event which will bring together over 5,000 sportsmen and women to the Ghanaian capital.
