GHANA’s bid for the rights to host and organize the 13th African Games in 2023 is premised on the use of three (3) HOST CITIES FOR THE GAMES, namely: Accra, the nation’s capital, Cape Coast, the colonial era capital, and Kumasi, the cultural city of ECOWAS sub-region.
The intent is to spread the immediate socio-economic benefits of the Games across as many people as possible in the three host cities instead of the usual one host city.
The AG 2023 Evaluation Team, therefore paid a working visit to Cape Coast as well as toured selected areas in Accra.
In Accra, the delegation of the Evaluation and the Ghana Working Teams visited the Bukom Emporium, the Accra Stadium (under rehabilitation), and the University of Ghana. They also paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah, MP.
In Cape Coast, the delegation visited the University of Cape Coast and the Cape Coast Stadium, with a courtesy call on the Central Regional Minister, Hon. Kwamena Duncan.
