The Local Organising Committee of the 13th African Games – Accra 2023, paid a working visit to the Ghana Tourism Authority on 17th January 2022.
The visit was in line with the LOC’s stakeholder engagement strategy and aimed at exploring all possible collaboration towards delivering a prestigious African Games event in August 2023.
Dr. Kwaku Ofosu-Asare, the Executive Chairman of the LOC, briefed the Ghana Tourism Authority board on the mandate of the LOC and the numerous benefits the Ghanaian tourism industry stands to gain from Accra 2023. The Executive Chairman discussed areas of collaboration such as branding of buses, transportation, branding of tourist sites and other key areas to help generate interest and spread the vibe.

There were also mutual discussion on the creation of an African Games village where Ghanaian and African cultural items would be displayed and sold to help boost the sub-sector.
The LOC apprised the Ghana Tourism Authority board on its planned nationwide tour. The Greater Accra Director of Planning, Development, and Investment – Mr. Anane Nsiah on his part pledged his fullest support for the Greater Accra Regional and promised to ensure the provision of key logistics and facility.
