Accra 2023 LOC pays courtesy call on Mayor of Accra

The Local Organising Committee for the 13th African Games – Accra 2023, paid a courtesy visit to the Mayor of Accra on Friday 14th January 2022.

The Executive Chairman, Dr Kwaku Ofosu-Asare, briefed the Mayor of Accra, Hon. Elizabeth Naa Sackey on the mandate of the LOC to organize and host a successful African Games in 2023 and transform the infrastructure at Borteyman into a university of Sports for development.

Dr. Kwaku Ofosu Asare also briefed the Mayor of Accra on the government’s commitment to the Games as a national Project. The LOC impressed upon the Mayor to organize floats, concerts, and international workshops and conferences to herald the African Games in the City.

The Executive Chairman also made it known to the team from AMA that the LOC will need help in sanitation, security, transport, and lighting, among others as Ghana aims to host the best competition in what would-be game’s 58-year history. The Mayor thanked and assured the LOC of its full support to ensure a successful Games
