The Local Organizing Committee for the 13th African Games has learnt with deep regret the passing of Jones Abu Alhassan, an astute football administrator and commiserates with the immediate family of the deceased in particular and the football fraternity in general.
The LOC is shocked and saddened by the demise of Mr. Jones Abu Alhasan whose unbridled love for football saw him contribute immensely towards the development of the game in various capacities in our beloved country.
His profound knowledge of the rudiments of football and the laws governing the sport left an indelible impression on all who encountered him and marked him out as an excellent player manager and club administrator, with a keen sense of interest in the development of our national teams.
It therefore, came as little surprise that he died in the line of duty as leader of Ghana’s delegation to Ivory Coast during the CAF Women’s Champions League Zone B WAFU tournament.
The LOC shares in the immense sorrow and pain of the bereaved family and wishes to state that its prayers are with you in these difficult moments.
May the gentle soul of Jones Abu Alhassan rest in perfect peace.
