Accra 2023 LOC holds successful meeting with Algeria Ambassador to Ghana

The Executive Chairman of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the 13th African Games paid a courtesy visit to the Ambassador of Algeria to Ghana, His Excellency Ali Redjel, on Friday, 25th March 2022.

The meeting which took place at the Embassy of Algeria in Accra was in line with the LOC’s stakeholder engagement strategy.

During the discussions, the Executive Chairman of the LOC, Dr. Kweku Ofosu-Asare briefed the Ambassador on the progress of the LOC’s activities and the sports codes selected ahead of the African Games in August 2023.

Dr. Ofosu-Asare also apprised the Ambassador about invitations sent out to all African countries ahead of the first Chefs de Mission meeting in Accra as part of the requirements of the Protocol Agreement.

Ghana is expected to host about 7,000 athletes and officials ahead of the Games, hence the need to recruit and train international and local volunteers.

H.E Ali Redjel expressed his readiness and support to the LOC as Algeria will be participating in the 13th African Games slated for August 2023.

The Ambassador also informed the Executive Chairman of the LOC about the 2022 Mediterranean Games in Algeria from 25th June 2022 to July 25, 2022.

He assured Dr. Ofosu-Asare that his outfit will facilitate all arrangements with regard to visa acquisitions for Algerian athletes and officials as well as fans who will travel for the Games.
